Hello guys, today I will talk about what is DCIM folder inside smartphone memory card or any other digital camera memory card. So, let's start.

DCIM stands for Digital Camera Images. You will find this folder inside any smartphone or digital camera memory card, if you have deleted this folder it will automatically created in your smartphone memory card. DCIM folder use to store the photos and videos captured by the your smartphone or digital camera. The DCIM folder contains JPEG, PNG images, and MP4 videos. DCIM is define as part of the DCIF (Design Rule For Camera File System) developed by JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association). DCIF  provides a standard rule for smartphone or any other digital camera to recognize this folder in memory card. Most digital camera or smartphone manufacturers are follow this rule to store images in memory card. The SD card must use specific file system when formatted such as FAT  (File Allocation Table) file system.  It will also help you to import image from connected device to your computer. While most computers that can automaticallyimport all images from the DCIM folder in your memory card, or you can manually browse through the images stored in DCIM folder.
